Baking has always been a special joy for the men and women who cannot get out of the kitchen. But what happens when someone is watching their carbs? Low-carb food is essential for a healthy and well-balanced diet, but there are not many bakery items that fall into that category, at least not any obvious ones. Here is the trick, skip the obvious. In realty, there are several delicious bakery items that can be made at home that are low-carb. Here are a few to get started.

Almond-Flavored Butter Bread

• 1 cup of almond butter
• 4 eggs
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• 1 pinch of salt

• Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
• Line a bread loaf pan with wax paper.
• Whisk the almond butter and eggs together using a fork until they are completely blended.
• Whisk in the pinch of salt and the baking soda until blended.
• Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
• Bake for about 30 minutes or until a fork comes out clean.

The sweetness of the almond butter makes this recipe to die for without making the body want to die right along with it.

Spicy Cheddar Biscuits

• 4 ounces of low-fat softened cream cheese
• 1 large egg
• 1 ½ cups of shredded, sharp cheddar cheese
• 3 cloves of minced garlic
• ¼ teaspoon of Italian seasoning
• ¼ teaspoon of onion salt
• ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
• 1 ¼ cups of almond flour
• ¼ cup of heavy cream
• ¼ cup of water
• 6 strips of turkey bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
• 10 chopped jalapeno slices

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
• Beat the cream cheese and egg together until well-blended and creamy.
• Add the shredded cheese, garlic, Italian seasoning, onion salt and garlic powder.
• Mix it all together with a rubber spatula until blended.
• Mix in the almond flour, heavy cream and water.
• Fold the crumbled turkey bacon and chopped jalapenos into the biscuit dough.
• Drop mounds of dough into a buttered muffin pan.
• Bake for 20 minutes.
• Cool for 30 minutes and enjoy.

The almond flour and turkey bacon make this recipe low-carb without affecting its buttery, flaky goodness.

Mashed Garlic Cauliflower

• 1 head of cauliflower
• Salt and pepper for seasoning
• 4 to 6 cloves of peeled garlic
• 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil
• 1/3 cup of cream
• 1/3 cup of grated, Romano cheese
• Cream

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
• Clean the cauliflower and break into medium-sized pieces.
• Season the garlic cloves with salt and pepper.
• Inside a large piece of aluminum foil, tightly wrap the cauliflower pieces and garlic cloves.
• Put the wrapped up items into the oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
• After it is done baking, pour the cauliflower and garlic into a baking dish and mash them to the desired consistency.
• Add the extra virgin olive oil and the desired amount of cream into the mixture and blend well.
• Add the grated, Romano cheese and season it with salt and pepper.
• If needed, reheat the mixture in the oven until hot.

In place of potatoes, cauliflower is a low-carb option that still grants that craving for garlic mashed potatoes.

Low-carb baking dishes are within anyone’s grasp. All they have to do is reach.
